Expect the Ford F-150 to Be Refreshed for 2018

2018 Ford F-150 Unveil

The long-lived, iconic Ford truck, the F-150, may be considered one of the most important vehicles that Ford puts out. Regardless of the new generation of F-150s out in 2015, a string of updates is planned by Ford to stay abreast of its competitors.

A Peek at What You Can Expect from the 2018 F-150

A sneak peek of a test vehicle shows the 2018 F-150 with a diesel engine under the hood and a fuel filler door that specifies diesel fuel. The word on the street is that the Jaguar Land Rover’s 3-liter diesel is the engine of choice for the 2018 F-150.

Sightings of camouflaged prototypes hint at changes to the front and rear of the F-150, but the changes could be minor ones, such as the shape of the lights. The body style of the F-150 hasn’t changed much in recent years.

Take a Look Under the Hood of the 2017 F-150

The F-150 will spawn a new truck for 2017 called the Raptor. The 2017 F-150 will be powered by an upgraded version of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that reportedly generates 370 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. A partnership with General Motors has resulted in the creation of a new 10-speed automatic transmission. GM plans to debut this tranny in its Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Rumor has it that Ford may put out a hybrid F-150 for 2019.
