All children between the ages of three and ten are invited to take part in the Annual Salem Easter Egg Hunt weekend festivities at Longwood Park. This includes Easter Egg Hunts, Meeting the Easter Bunny, and so much more!
Easter Egg Hunt at Longwood Park
The main event is the Easter Egg Hunt. There will be a few different Easter Egg Hunts separated by age groups:
Children ages 3&4 and 7&8 will hunt at 6:30 p.m.
Children ages 5&6 and 9&10 will hunt at 7:15 p.m.
Be sure that your kids bring their own Basket or Bucket for collecting their eggs.
Other Easter Egg Hunt Events
With the hundreds of kids that usually turn out every year, most of the actual Easter Egg Hunts only last a few minutes, but there are activities that last hours to keep your kids entertained throughout the entire event. This will include having a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. He will also be going around giving out candy and just spreading the Easter cheer. And there will be plenty of other miscellaneous fun activities like face painting, balloon animals, and arts and crafts courtesy of the Salem Art Center. There will also be lots of great snacks given out free of charge, such as popcorn, ice cream, and milk.
City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department
All of this is brought to the public thanks to the sponsorship and hard work of The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department. Plan to come no matter what the weather decides to do on the day of the hunt. The Salem Parks and Recreation Department will hold the festivities come rain or shine. This department does much to maintain the livelihood and spirit of Salem. Throughout the year this dedicated team provides us with a wide variety of activities. In cooperation with many other annual sponsors, they instigate and operate many annual events with a full-time staff of 16 and part-time field maintenance workers, instructors, game officials, summer special event workers, summer interns, sport clinic leaders, and volunteer coaches. Right now it is fully concentrated on perfecting this year’s Easter festivities.
Bring out your kids to Longwood Park on April 13th and enjoy the Annual Salem Easter Egg Hunt!
