What’s the Difference in the Taurus SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO?

Ford Taurus SE

Like most trims, the Taurus SE has a 288-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine or the available 240-horsepower, 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. This trim of the large sedan has Bluetooth for phone and audio, six speakers, a CD player, two USB ports, an auxiliary audio jack, a 4.2-inch display, Sync voice controls, and a rearview camera.

Other interior amenities include 6-way power for the front seats along with manual lumbar and recline, 60/40-split and folding rear seats, air conditioning, cruise control, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The exterior has remote keyless entry and an exterior access keypad for convenience, along with LED taillights, automatic headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and integrated blind-spot mirrors.

Ford Taurus SEL

When you upgrade to the Taurus SEL trim, you automatically get LED accent lights for the front fascia, puddle lamps on heated mirrors, and remote start. It also adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, upgraded upholstery, leather on the shift knob and steering wheel, and satellite radio. You can customize the Taurus SEL with an option package for Sync 3 infotainment, an extra speaker, power-adjustable pedals, and keyless ignition. You can also add heated front seats and leather upholstery.

Ford Taurus Limited

The Limited trim builds on the SHO with the option package describe above. It also throws in a universal garage door opener and 19-inch wheels. Inside, you get the leather upholstery, driver memory settings, power adjustment on the steering wheel, and 10-way power for heated and ventilated front seats.

Ford Taurus SHO

The SHO trim is designed to boost performance and it has a unique 365-horsepower, 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine. Additionally, it has xenon headlights, 20-inch wheels, all-wheel drive, a rear spoiler, and a sport-tuned suspension. Other enhancements include unique upholstery and trim, alloy pedals, and shift paddles on the steering wheel.
